This information is for the students who would like to approach me for their research work under my guidance. My research work is mostly on computation. Hence, I require a strong background in Mathematics in addition to a strong background in Mechanics and fundamental science.

About Mathematics, I would suggest to go through the MIT OCW courses and practice the assignment problems sincerely on Single Variable Calculus, Multi-Variable Calculus, Differential Equation and Linear Algebra.

About Mechanics, I expect my student to be very strong in Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials. In this regard, I suggest you to enhance your capability in these courses enough to solve most of the exercise problems from Meriam & Kraige's Engineering Mechanics book and Beer & Johnston's Mechanics of Materials book. In addition to that, I would like to suggest to go through the MIT OCW course on Engineering Dynamics and practice assignment problems.

Since I work in interdisciplinary problems, I expect my student to have a basic understanding about fields other than mechanical engineering. In this regard, I suggest you to go through all the physics lectures by Prof. R Shankar and by Prof. Walter Lewin.
